Licensing Overview
As you have already learned, in order to help the people around you in buying and selling real estate for compensation, you need a license to do so. Obtaining a license is one of the first steps that must be completed before acting as a real estate agent.
Just like requiring drivers to obtain a driver's license, each state requires real estate agents to be licensed for protection of rights, to create standards of competency and ethics, and to make sure that agents are qualified to represent others in real estate transactions.
